Cape Fear Community College New Student Orientation
Our New Student Orientation is designed to help you start your college journey with confidence and success. During orientation, you’ll receive important information about academic programs, campus resources, student support services, and how to navigate CFCC’s online systems. You'll also meet faculty, staff, and fellow students, giving you a chance to start building your campus community right away.
Orientation will cover:
Class registration guidance
Financial aid, Scholarship, and payment information
Tips for academic success
Campus safety and student policies
Involvement opportunities and student life
By the end of orientation, you’ll feel better prepared to take on your first semester and make the most of your time at CFCC. Attendance is highly encouraged for all new students.

Questions & Answers
- Will there be check-in?
Yes, check-in will be at the Wilson Center (WA) and will begin at 9:30am. Please see our campus map here and look for WA.
- Where to park?
Parking will be available in the Hanover Parking Deck, you can enter the deck from Hanover St or 2nd St. Please see the campus map here.
- Can I stop by at any time?
Of course you're welcome to stop by at any time to participate in New Student Orientation, but there is an itinerary and you won't want to miss anything!

10:15 - 10:45 am- Introduction to Campus Resources
11:00 - 11:30 am- Q & A Panel with Student Services Leaders OR Student Breakout Session #1
11:30 am - 12:00 pm- Breakout Session #2 OR Self-Guided Tour/Campus Resource Fair in the Schwartz Center
12:00 pm - 1:00 pm- Campus Resource Fair & Food in the Schwartz Center
- Who will be at the Q & A Panel?
CFCC's leadership from across Student Services will be available to answer any questions you may have. Representatives from Counseling, Student Accessibility Services, Financial Aid, CFCC Foundation (scholarships), Sea Devil Bookstore, and more will be ready to provide you and your guests with valuable information!
- What is a Student Breakout Session?
If incoming students are interested in one-on-one assistance in a computer lab with navigating the myCFCC portal, then we recommend attending ONE of the TWO breakout sessions being offered during orientation.
Breakout sessions will guide you through your myCFCC portal like accessing your Schedule, Canvas, Self-Service, Academic Calendar, and so much more!
- Will there be food?
YES! There will be food and beverages at the Campus Resource Fair in the Schwartz Center.
